Priyadarshan’s Malayalam film ‘Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham’ was declared the Best Feature Film in the 67th National Film Awards announced on March 22 for the year 2019.
Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was named best director for Hindi film ‘Bahattar Hoorain’ by the National Film Award jury, headed by filmmaker N. Chandra.
Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush shared the Best Actor honour for their roles in ‘Bhonsle’ and ‘Asuran’, respectively.
Kangana Ranaut was named Best Actress for her roles in ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Panga’.
An Engineered Dream (Hindi) bagged the award for Best Non-Feature Film.
The Nargis Dutt Award for National Integration was given to Marathi film ‘Taj Mahal’.
The Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment was given to Telugu film ‘Maharshi’.
The Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director went to Malayalam film ‘Helen’ by Mathukutty Xavier.
Sikkim has bagged the award for being Most Film Friendly State.
