What is Veer Gatha Project?

More than 1.36 crore school students from across the country participated in the third edition of Veer Gatha Project. 

The students sent poems, paintings, essays, videos, etc to honour the acts of bravery and sacrifice of the officers/personnel of the Armed Forces.

What is Veer Gatha Project?

• To honour the acts of bravery and sacrifice of the officers/personnel of the Armed Forces, other lawfully constituted forces and civilians, gallantry awards are announced twice in a year.

• In order to disseminate the details of bravery acts and the life stories of these bravehearts among the students, the ministry of defence proposed that school students may be motivated to do projects/activities based on gallantry award winners.

• It provides a platform for the school students to do creative projects/activities based on gallantry award winners. 

• The first edition of Veer Gatha Project was conudcted in 2021.

• More than 8 lakh students participated in the first edition and more than 19 lakh students participated in the second edition.

• The project is open for all the schools in all states and Union Territories.

• Best projects are awarded at national level by the ministry of defence and the ministry of education.
