Goyal launches Trade Connect e-Platform

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched Trade Connect e-Platform, a trade portal to provide all kinds of information related to exports and imports to guide the existing and aspiring exporters on the opportunities available in the international market.

Key features of the portal:

• The Trade Connect e-Platform will act as a one-stop solution for all kinds of information such as customs duties, rules, and regulations.

• The platform is developed in collaboration with the the Ministry of Medium, Small and Medium Enterprises, EXIM Bank, Department of Financial Services (DFS), and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

• It will provide detailed information on global demand of a product, country-wise trade information, global standards, market access conditions, compliance requirements and forge connections with international buyers.

• It will also hand hold exporters to get information about Free Trade Agreements and provide documents that will enable them to ship at preferential tariffs or duties at a single location.

• The exporters will also be able to use the platform to apply for certificate of origin, for exports to FTA partners. 

• It will also host a country guide listing export opportunities there, along with rules and tariffs for exports.

• The e-platform also has a feature where exporters can get their queries on trade-related topics from officials and experts. 

• The portal is set to address information asymmetry by offering exporters comprehensive support and resources.

• The platform will connect more than six lakh IEC (import-export code) holders, over 180 Indian Mission officials, over 600 Export Promotion Council Officials, besides officials from Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce and banks.
