Vaishnaw launches AI compute portal & dataset platform AIKosha

On the first anniversary of IndiaAI mission, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched an array of initiatives, including the IndiaAI compute portal and dataset platform AIKosha, intended at democratising access to AI and driving innovation forward.

The Rs 10,372 crore IndiaAI Mission aims to drive economic growth and achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Key Initiatives Launched:

1) AIKosha: IndiaAI Datasets Platform

• A secured platform providing a repository of datasets, models, and use cases to enable AI innovation. 

• Integrated development environment with tools and tutorials.

• Easy access to datasets and models. 

• Data encryption, secure APIs, and firewalls for real-time traffic filtering.

• Hosts over 300 datasets and 80 models, fostering the development of diverse and unbiased AI solutions.

2) IndiaAI Compute Portal

• Provides accessible and affordable AI compute, network, storage, platform, and cloud services.

• Up to 40 per cent subsidy on AI compute services for startups, MSMEs, academia, researchers, and government agencies.

• Access to NVIDIA H100, H200, A100, AMD MI300x, Intel Gaudi 2, and AWS Tranium and Inferentia.

• Initially offers access to 10,000 GPUs, with 8,693 more to be added, enabling cost-effective AI development and innovation.

3) AI Competency Framework for Public Sector Officials

• Equips public sector officials with AI-related skills for informed policy-making and implementation.

• Competency mapping and upskilling initiatives aligned with global best practices.

• Enhances AI adoption in governance and public service delivery.

4) iGOT-AI: AI-Powered Personalised Learning

• Enhances the learning experience for government officials on the iGOT Karmayogi platform.

• Advanced AI-powered personalised content recommendation system.

• Improves skill development and capacity building for public officials.

5) IndiaAI Startups Global Acceleration Program

• Provides Indian AI startups with global market expansion opportunities.

• 4-Month Program: One month online, Three months onsite at Station F in Paris.

• Mentorship and Networking: Access to global experts and investors.

• Supports 10 selected startups in scaling their innovations and entering European markets.

6) IndiaAI Innovation Challenge

• Promotes impactful AI solutions in critical sectors like healthcare, climate change, governance, agriculture, and learning disabilities.

• Over 900 submissions received, with 30 shortlisted solutions advancing to the next stage.

7) IndiaAI Future Skills Fellowship

• Mitigates barriers to entry into AI programs and increases AI courses in undergraduate, masters, and PhD programs.

• Disbursing tranches to UG and PG students from centrally funded institutes like IITs, NITs, and IIITs.
