• The Anubhav portal was launched by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare in March 2015 for retiring government officials to leave a record of their experiences while in service.

• It is envisaged that this culture of leaving notes by retirees will become the foundation stone of good governance and administrative reforms in future.

• This innovative project encourages the retiring civil servants to document their experiences and insights gained during their years of service.

• It also provides them with an opportunity to convey information related to their contribution in enhancing the effectiveness of the various government policies.

• The primary aim of this initiative is to create a rich repository of knowledge and wisdom that can serve as a foundation stone for future administrative reforms and good governance practices. 

• It also allows them to convey information related to their contribution for enhancing the effectiveness of various government policies.

In order to encourage submission of write-ups by retired government servants, an Annual Award Ceremony was started in 2016.

• Till date, 78 outstanding write-ups have been conferred with 59 Anubhav Awards and 19 Jury Certificates in seven Anubhav Awards Ceremonies. As many as 104 organisations have been registered on the portal.

• National Anubhav Awards Scheme, 2025 was notified with a major revamp. For the first time, apart from the employees of central government, employees of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and Public Sector Banks (PSBs) are also covered under the scheme to acknowledge their contribution in nation building. As per the notified scheme, write-ups published from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 were to be considered.

• The respective departments review the submitted write-ups and approved write-ups are published on the Anubhav portal.

• Each Anubhav Awardee will be felicitated with a medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 10,000, whereas a Jury Certificate winner will be presented with a medal and a certificate.
