India, US special forces conduct ‘Tarkash’ exercise

• Special Forces of India and the US conducted the eighth edition of Tarkash exercise to strengthen counter-terrorism cooperation.

• Commandos from India’s National Security Guard (NSG) and the United States Special Operations Forces (US SOF) took part in the bilateral exercise held from July 13 to August 7. 

• The successful completion of the exercise reflects the shared commitment of the National Security Guard and the United States Special Operations Forces to enhancing operational readiness and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

Other bilateral exercises include: 

i) Cope India (Air Force)

ii) Yudh Abhyas (Army) 

iii) Tiger Triumph (a tri-services exercise inaugurated in 2019)

iv) Sea Defenders (Coast Guard)

v) Vajra Prahas (Special Forces).
