‘CODA’ wins Oscar For Best Picture

• ‘CODA’ (which stands for Child of Deaf Adults), scripted history by becoming the first film with a cast of predominantly deaf actors to win the Best Picture at the 94th Academy Awards.

• Written and directed by Sian Heder, CODA is a heartwarming movie about a deaf family with a hearing daughter.

• ‘CODA’ became the first movie from a streaming service, Apple TV+, to win the top prize.

• When the movie won Oscars for best picture, best supporting actor and best adapted screenplay, nearly everyone in the audience stood and applauded in sign language.
