PM Modi inaugurates the strategic Sela tunnel
It is the world’s longest twin-lane tunnel. Tunnel 1 is 1,003 meters long, and Tunnel 2 is 1,595-meter long.
It is situated at an elevation of 13,000 feet and is built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) at a cost of Rs 825 crore.
The Sela tunnel will provide all-weather connectivity to Tawang across Sela pass on the Balipara-Chariduar-Tawang Road in Arunachal Pradesh.
The foundation stone of the tunnel was laid by PM Modi in February 2019.
