Uzbekistan confers its highest state honour on PM Modi

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the “Oliy Darajali Do’stlik” Order (Order of Highest Friendship) by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his contribution to the strengthening of friendship between the two countries. 

• This is Uzbekistan’s highest honour for foreign leaders.

• The conferment of the “Oliy Darajali Do’stlik” Order reflects the deep-rooted civilisational ties and the steadily deepening India-Uzbekistan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

• The Uzbek honour adds to a list of top state and civilian awards conferred on PM Modi by over 30 countries in recognition of his leadership and contribution to bilateral ties.

• In July, Indonesia conferred upon Modi its highest civilian award, the ‘Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia’.

• In June, Seychelles conferred its highest national honour, the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’, on Modi in recognition of his leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development.
